Corine Brown as Leanne Leanne is as vocal, career-minded and confident as she is insecure and a bit of a spaz Aside from playing the female lead, Corine also signed up to oversee the production alongside Luke and Craeg, a decision she will probably regret. |
| Jordan King-Lacroix as Peter
Peter is the “straight man” to the complete lunacy that goes on when Mark and Chris are around We found Jordan via Facebook, and is one of the few people in the cast none of us knew beforehand. Outside of his work as Peter, Jordan does a lot of theatre work -one of the most notable roles being Dr. Horrible. |

Brad Stubbs as Mark
When something needs to be described as “epic” or “badass”, Mark is the man to do it. Mark is an amateur explosives enthusiast -a talent which got him put into a support group. He also seems to be one of these chaps who knows the right people for the task. Brad is currently a member of the punk/rock/ska band Blatant Audio and is one of the many awesome people we’ve found through Corine. |
|
Brendon Berndt as Chris Imagine a hyperactive puppy that constantly humps your leg. Now give that puppy a liking of alcohol and the ability to act before he thinks. That’s Chris. Brendon we found via Craeg. Brendon, thankfully is nothing like a leg-humping puppy. Brendon works over at Screen NSW. |

Michael Thorn as The Cleaner Part drill sergeant, part pop-culture aficionado, part weapons expert, all creepy. Unlike his onscreen counterpart, Michael is neither a cleaner, or a weapons expert. That is, at least to the knowledge of the rest of the cast and crew |
Supporting Cast
|
Meaad Yazarlou as Adrian Adrian (or ‘Ade’, for short) is… *sigh* without a doubt, the last person you’d want to take home to mother. He spends his time painting, drinking and causing large volumes of physical pain and mental anguish to Peter and the other housemates Meaad is a friend and former colleague of Ash. Brought in at the last minute after our original Adrian had to quit, Ash said Meaad was “perfect for the role”. |
|
| Ash Amin as Jason
This Jason isn’t all about hockey masks and killing campers -something which we’re sure the other characters are grateful for. Jason is a friend of Mark and Peter’s and has somehow maintained his sanity and prevented Mark from blowing his limbs off. Ash is a filmmaker, gamer and comic geek from Canberra. He joined team HIOP as more of a consultant, choreographer and props-supplier, but eventually added the role of Jason to his to-do list as well. Outside of HIOP, he is currently working on his own slapstick/grindhouse production entitled “Grounded Inc.” |

Jacqueline Anderton as Sarah Sarah’s Mr. Kay’s ultra-conservative middle-woman between him and the flatmates. Of course, this translates to “psychotic evil genius” in the minds of the tenants. Jacqui also stepped in as Extra Wrangler and Senior Helper Monkey where needed, ruling over her underlings with an iron monkey fist. |
|
Angry Aussie as Mr. Kay Mr. Kay is the landlord. Who tends to rule over the house via an angry, long distance fist. Andrew (or ‘Angry Aussie’ as he is known on YouTube) is a longtime video blogger who shouts a lot and wears weird masks. You can find him on WordPress and YouTube, |

Luke Sheehan Through a lack of interest in a “real job” and an abundance of free time, Luke started writing ‘Hell is Other People’ in 2009 as a way to both add something to his film-making portfolio and to stay sane through a rather shitty year. After shelving it for a while for being “too familiar”, he called upon the aid of good friends and (sometimes) partners in crime, Corine and Craeg once he realized that the idea of basing a series on his own life was actually a pretty good one. Luke cites directors Kevin Smith (Clerks) and Edgar Wright (Spaced) as his major influences and can be found -among other places, updating his rant-blog on Rukusan.com |
|
| Corine Brown Production Supervisor Originally brought on board to play “Leanne”, Corine quickly realized that Luke didn’t quite grasp the amount of work involved in such a production (that is, to make it look half-decent as opposed to “a bunch of twats with a video camera”) and went on to not only act, but organize sets, music and clothing. |

Craeg DeDavenport-Stuart Part of the crack-team in The Slacker Collective’s “Quality Control”, Craeg is the Igor to Luke’s Dr. Frankenstein. Providing suggestions to make the scripts not epically suck, as well as suggest ideas for character personalities, sets and music |
| Luis Rojas Music Arrangement Luis, another person we met through Corine, was brought on to arrange a score for the series to compliment the music provided by local and international artists. Citing Danny Elfman, John Williams and Ennio Morricone as influences and with years of music experience under his belt, Luis was one of the ideal candidates for the job. Outside of his work with ‘Hell is Other People’, Luis is associated with the bands Shanghai, The Red Room and Mechanical Black |
